    1. My authorisation for HK Shark Foundation to debit the specified amount from my credit card account monthly will continue after the expiry date and with the issuance of a new card until further notice. Credit card transactions will normally be processed on the 15th day of the month. A donation confirmation letter will be sent to you before the first debit from your credit card account.

    2. HK Shark Foundation is a registered charity in Hong Kong. For Hong Kong residents, donations of HK$100 or above are tax deductible. A donation receipt will be sent after the end of each financial year.



    The following information is provided to you in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

    1. Collection and use of personal data

    All personal data concerning you (whether provided by you or any other person) may be used by the Hong Kong Shark Foundation Limited (“HKSF”) and/or any person authorised by HKSF for the following purposes:

    (a) processing, administering and communicating with you regarding any donations made by you to HKSF;

    (b) conducting research and generating statistics to enhance HKSF’s services and activities;

    (c) communicating with you in response to any queries or complaints submitted by you or in relation to your donations or applications to events, programs or volunteering opportunities;

    (d) informing you (subject to your consent) of campaigns, activities and fundraising appeals relating to HKSF’s activities and events in accordance with the section 3 below; and

    (e) complying with applicable laws or regulations.

    You must provide the information specified in the donation form (except those items marked with an asterisk (*)). Please note that if you refuse or are otherwise unable to supply your personal data as requested, HKSF may be not be able to process or administer your donations or applications.

    2. Transfer and retention of personal data

    (a) Your personal data will be kept confidential but for the purposes set out above and subject to applicable law, your personal data may be: supplied to any agents, contractors or third parties who provide administration, data processing, telecommunications, computer, payment, call centre, mailing and/or printing services to HKSF (including but not limited to payment gateways for credit card processing, banks that process donations on behalf of HKSF, research companies for donor satisfaction surveys and agents who conduct promotional activities on behalf of HKSF) in Hong Kong or elsewhere; and

    (b) disclosed to any government departments or other appropriate governmental or regulatory authorities in Hong Kong or elsewhere.

    HKSF does not provide your personal data to any third party for the purposes of enabling that third party to market its own products or services to you.

    It is also HKSF’s policy to retain certain personal data about you for up to 3 years when you cease to donate to HKSF. Such data may be used for the purposes and transferred as set out above post-cessation of your donations, including for audit purposes and for future fundraising appeals and activities.

    3. Use of personal data in direct marketing

    In addition to the purposes set out above, HKSF intends to use your name and contact details for sending you promotional materials (such as brochures, newsletters, periodicals) and/or contacting you in relation to HKSF’s conservation work, activities and fundraising appeals. However, HKSF cannot use your personal data without your consent.

    If you do not agree to such use of your personal data in direct marketing, please indicate your objection by checking the box next to the sentence in the donation form: “I do NOT consent to the proposed use of my personal data for direct marketing purposes specified in section 3 of the Personal Information Collection Statement attached to this donation form”. By signing the donation form without checking the box, you confirm your agreement to the use of your personal data in direct marketing.

    You may in the future withdraw your consent to HKSF’s use of your personal data for the above-mentioned direct marketing purposes and HKSF shall cease using your personal data without charge after receipt of your request. You shall inform HKSF of your wish to withdraw your consent by using the contact information specified in section 4 below.

    4. Access and correction of personal data

    You have the right to request access to or correction of your personal data held by HKSF. Requests for access to and/or correction of personal data should be addressed in writing to:
