HKSF World Oceans Day Hong Kong June 8, 2019 – “Sharks & Art”
Hong Kong Shark Foundation and Limewood restaurant (Maximal Concepts) are teaming up to bring you a World Oceans Day “Sharks & Art” event on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 2-7 pm. Join us at Limewood restaurant in Repulse Bay to raise awareness about World Oceans Day and the important role sharks play in our oceans.
1400hrs > Local artist Katie Lee Dowson unveils her exclusive World Oceans Day “Sharks & Art” painting at Limewood restaurant. Come meet the artist Katie Lee Dowson and HKSF’s Education Director Andrea Richey and learn more about the cause to raise awareness about our oceans and the importance of sharks to our us and our oceans.
1500hrs > Sunset Sessions Limewood DJ and the “Goddess of the Sea”(GOTS) cocktail promotion starts (3-7 pm). Limewood has kindly pledged to donate HKD12 to Hong Kong Shark Foundation for every GOTS cocktail sold!! Please support HKSF to help raise awareness about shark conservation. This great cocktail promotion goes until September 8th!
Born and raised on Lamma Island in Hong Kong, Katie graduated from the University of Arts London. Katie’s work often incorporates mixed-media, combining varied materials such as photographic prints, pen, and paint. She is inspired by intricate patterns, vivid colours, and stylistic elements of subcultures, often using these within her artwork. Katie is passionate about sharks and the ocean and graciously has donated her painting to HKSF for our World Oceans Day event.
